21st Annual Pharmacology Update for Healthcare Professionals Webinar - October 25, 2024

We are pleased to welcome back Dr. Wendy Wright to the Pharmacology Update for Healthcare Professionals Webinar.

Dr. Wright received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2019 from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, her Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Simmons College in Boston in 1992 and completed a family nurse practitioner post-master’s program in 1995. She is Senior lecturer at Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, is the Past President of NPACE and founder of the NH Chamber of Entrepreneurial Nurse Practitioners, an organization designed to assist nurse practitioners with independent practice issues. In addition, Dr. Wright is the owner of Partner in Healthcare Education, LLC, a medical education company. 

Program Description

This all-day virtual workshop focuses on updating clinical pharmacology knowledge. Appropriate for pharmacists, physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and advance practice nurses in ambulatory and acute care settings. Participants will have an opportunity to review new therapies for the treatment of common chronic diseases, review the pharmacology and clinical use of select drugs, and discuss common practice scenarios.

Target Audience

The target audience includes nurses, advanced practice registered nurses, and pharmacists. Other health professionals interested in treatment management and pharmacotherapeutic considerations may also be interested in attending.

Contact Hours

The University of Southern Indiana designates this activity for 5.25 contact hours. CE hours will be available for Nurses, Physicians, Pharmacists, Social Workers, and Health Facility Administrators. CE hours will also be available for Indiana licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Mental Health Counselors, and Dental Professionals. 

5.25 contact hours qualify for pharmacotherapeutics contact hour designation. The program content meets the pharmacology continuing education requirements for the renewal of the advanced practice nurse prescriptive authority license in Indiana.

The University of Southern Indiana designates 1.25 hours of this content as continuing education hours for the requirements of the MATE Act.

A $25.00 administrative fee will be charged through October 11, 2024. No refunds will be provided after that date.
