The Administrator-in-Training (AIT) residency will complete the necessary requirements for eligibility for Health Facility Administrator licensure in Indiana. This hands-on experience consists of 12 credits or 1,040 hours of practical experience in a long-term care facility over the final two semesters, along with USI faculty-led licensure examination preparation.

The students will be applying and demonstrating learned knowledge to actual post-acute care situations in the healthcare industry with AIT Preceptor guidance. There will be between 1-3 review cycles annually for the program.

Upon completion of the AIT experience, students qualify to sit for the Indiana State Board of Health Facilities Administration (HFA) and the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) licensing exams.
