Conference Presenters

Kathie Lasater, EdD, RN, FCN, ANEF, FAAN

Kathie Lasater is Professor Emerita from Oregon Health & Science University. An educationalist, pioneer in simulation, and a nursing education researcher, Dr. Lasater’s research has focused on the development of clinical judgment in students and new graduate nurses. One of the outcomes of her research is the Lasater Clinical Judgment Rubric, a widely-used assessment tool. The rubric has been translated or is in process in 20 other languages. Dr. Lasater has deeply engaged in a major statewide curriculum development project, spanning several years, and advised on the development of a novel Master of Science nursing course in Scotland.

Marilyn H. Oermann, PhD, RN, ANEF, FAAN

Marilyn Oermann is the Thelma M. Ingles Professor of Nursing at Duke University School of Nursing. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Nurse Educator. Dr. Oermann is the author/co-author of 34 books, nearly 230 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and many editorials, chapters, and other types of publications.

Michelle Aebersold, PhD, RN, CHSE, FSSH, FAAN

Dr. Michelle Aebersold is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and a Fellow in the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She is currently an XR Faculty Innovator in Residence through the University of Michigan XR Initiative at the Center for Academic Innovation. Dr. Aebersold has extensive experience in using a variety of simulation learning methods including Extended Realities, to improve the care of patients through caregiver education and training. She has developed the Simulation Model to Improve Learner and Health Outcomes (SMILHO).

Contact Hours

The University of Southern Indiana designates this activity for 6.5 contact hours. CE hours will be available for Nurses, Physicians, Pharmacists, Social Workers, and Health Facility Administrators. CE hours will also be available for Indiana licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapists Assistants, Mental Health Counselors, and Dental Professionals.

$85 for professionals
$40 for current graduate students
$20 for undergraduate students

After October 16:

$100 for professionals
$55 for current graduate students
$35 for undergraduate students

*Registrations accepted with credit card payment or employer invoicing. A one-time invoice fee of $25.00 will be added to the requesting organization's official invoice sent by the University of Southern Indiana.

Refund Policy

Refunds are available, less a $25 administrative fee, through October 17, 2025. No refunds will be provided after that date.
