Microsoft Access

What is Access?

Microsoft Access is a database management system.  It provides a user-friendly interface that helps the user build and develop an information storage and retrieval system with little programming experience.

What is the purpose of Access?

Access has excellent reporting tools.  These tools could be used to create professional reports from an Excel file.  Access can be used to combine multiple data sets with a common key.

One common use for Access is to join two files on a common field, and report from the joined data.

How do I download Access on my device?

See instructions on how to download on your laptop/computer here and your phone here.

Follow this link for a tutorial for Access. Also, training for this software is available at the University of Southern Indiana by enrolling in CIS151.
