Number of Awards: 6 in the amount of $1000
Selection Process:

Criteria: Scholarship for the arts. Preference to art, music or theatre students. May also be awarded to a creative writing or art history student. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the upcoming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Renewable with a 2.5 GPA.
Number of Awards: 1 in the amount of $100
Selection Process:

Criteria: Award to a student with an interest in screenwriting. May be re-awarded to the same recipient, but not automatically renewable. May not be awarded to a graduating senior.

Selection Process:

Criteria: Incoming freshman with a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher who is majoring in English with creative writing emphasis or English with rhetoric and writing emphasis. Renewable for up to three additional years with a 3.0 GPA as long as the recipient's major does not change. May not be awarded to a graduating senior.
Number of Awards: 4 in the amount of $2500

Criteria: Awarded each year to an incoming freshman planning to major in art, English, history, philosophy, theatre, or world language with minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need. See current brochure. Automatically renewable if recipient still meets criteria. Selected by Society for Arts & Humanities. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the upcoming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Student Financial Assistance must validate need.
Number of Awards: 2 in the amount of $100
Selection Process:

Criteria: Full-time English major: 1) Must have 3.5 GPA after at least 30 hours. 2) Must have 3.5 GPA in major, at least 15 hours of English. 3) Must have demonstrated excellence in writing and the study of literature. 4) Must submit sample of writing. 5) Other considerations - leadership ability and need. Must reapply; not automatically renewable. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Student Financial Assistance must validate need.

Selection Process:

Criteria: A junior or senior level student who is majoring in literature or English teaching and has an accumulative GPA of 3.0. The award is to recognize the student's outstanding performance in literature courses. Selection to be made by the English faculty. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the upcoming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Not renewable, but can be re-awarded if recipient still meets criteria.
