Members of the USI chapter of Beta Alpha Psi and Central High School students once again teamed up with HUG Alliance for a community service project. These volunteers filled more than 60 blessing bags with personal care items to be given to persons experiencing homelessness. HUG Alliance is a non-profit founded by Jeanette Maier-Lytle, instructor in accounting, to help people with spiritual, mental, and emotional needs. HUG stands for healing, uniting, and giving.
Tiffany Cary, student council advisor at Central, commented, "Thank you again for coming this morning! Our students love doing this, and I am so happy to be able to make it a Central Student Council Tradition. Our administrators and staff love this too!" BAP collaborated with Central Student Council members last spring to fill blessing bags, making this the second year for this community project.
