Dr. Brian L. McGuire, Associate Dean of the Romain College of Business, received the KPMG and Bernard J. Milano Lifetime Service Award at the 2024 Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. This award was created to honor distinguished and sustained service to the goals and purpose of Beta Alpha Psi, an honors organization for financial information students and professionals. The award recognizes individuals who have shown a lifetime commitment to the advancement of Beta Alpha Psi, through service efforts, financial contributions, or advocacy of the organization.
McGuire has been an active member of BAP for the last few decades. He previously served as BAP’s Global President in 2019-20. In addition, he served as BAP’s Director of Administration and Development; Chair of the Nominating Committee; Chair of the Finance, Investment, and Audit Committee; Chair of the Code of Ethics Development Task Force; and Chair of the Technology Task Force. He was also the recipient of the 2016 Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award, an Annual Global Award sponsored by McGladrey LLP.
McGuire has served as a director on several global boards. In addition to his service with Beta Alpha Psi, he served as Global President of the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA), Global Chair of the Board of Directors for the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), and as Global President of the Board of Trustees for the IMA Research Foundation. He currently serves on the Chapter Advisor Council (CAC) for Beta Gamma Sigma, as a Consultant-Evaluator of the Peer Review Corp for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and he previously served two terms on the International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB).
Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. Beta Alpha Psi has more than 300 chapters on college and university campuses with more than 300,000 members initiated since its formation.
