The University of Southern Indiana offers two options to earn a bachelor of science degree in respiratory therapy.
The four-year entry level program offers a comprehensive curriculum including hands-on training and direct clinical experience. The entry level program allows new undergraduate students the ability to earn their BSRT degree in the profession of respiratory therapy.
Practicing respiratory therapists may earn a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy online without the need to relocate. The degree completion program allows those who have an Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy and have been awarded the RRT credential the ability to develop their skills and advance in their field.
Choose a program below for course descriptions from the USI Academic Bulletin. For more detailed information on curriculum for the Traditional 4-Year Degree and Online RRT to BSRT Degree, see the menu at left.
Note for Online RRT to BSRT (Degree Completion): Block credit information is not included in the USI Academic Bulletin at this time. For students who earned their AS degree somewhere other than USI, a block of up to 50 credit hours can be awarded with confirmation of the RRT credential and licensure, where applicable.
Core 39
In addition to the departmental degree requirements, undergraduate students must complete the University Core 39. Our core provides the foundation for all baccalaureate degrees at the University of Southern Indiana. A university education prepares individuals to live wisely in a diverse and global community by helping students acquire both discipline-specific competence and broader knowledge and skills that reach across disciplines. View the classes included in Core 39 or talk to your advisor for more information.
