During their college career our students have numerous opportunities to learn from and engage with business professionals and community leaders in a wide range of networking and mentoring experiences.

Internship and Career Fair

USI Career Services and Internships hosts several on-campus career fairs, bringing together employers and their future employees.

Area accounting firms hold annual open houses, which are recruiting events for internships and full-time positions.

Whether competing on the state, national, or international stage, USI students on business case teams consistently bring home impressive results.

Accountants in the Classroom

Each semester professionals team up to share their experiences about relevant topics of study so students get a perspective from both the private and public sector.

USI Speaking Eagles Toastmasters

Students from all majors practice their speaking and communications skills in a friendly, comfortable environment when they participate in USI Speaking Eagles Toastmasters. Professionals volunteer to attend each weekly meeting to coach, provide constructive criticism, and talk about how communication impacts their organization.

Extravaganza!

The Extravaganza is one of our biggest events. It is held annually and all students are invited - whether they are accounting majors or have even considered accounting as a career. Student guests enjoy an evening "speed" networking with Accounting Circle members and Young Professionals to learn all about a career in accounting.

Real-World Projects for Real-World Clients

In their Senior Project class, it's time for CIS and Computer Science majors to "put it all together," using the skills they've learned in the classroom to solve a business problem for a real-life client - some of which are award-winning projects.

Speakers Series

The Romain College of Business Speaker Series enriches the educational experience of students at the University and residents of surrounding areas. The College sponsors speakers who provide insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and excellence in the business world. Past speakers include legendary entrepreneur Mr. T. Boone Pickens, former chairman of the Federal Reserve Mr. Ben Bernanke, and Uber co-founder Mr. Oscar Salazar. These engagements are events for the campus and the community.

Advisory Boards

The College retains three advisory boards: Accounting Circle, Board of Advisors, and IT Alliance. These leaders are tasked with providing input to the College on developing curricula that connects classroom learning to the business world.

Student Organizations

There are several organizations and honor societies for business majors that allow students to collaborate and network across disciplines. Throughout the academic year, these organizations hold events, volunteer in Evansville and the surrounding area, offer leadership opportunities for their members, and promote diversity on campus - all while having fun! Nearly 40% of business majors participate in a Romain College event or organization each semester.

Study Abroad in Germany

The Romain College conducts an International Summer University that is a 3.5-week long academic and cultural program at the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrück, Germany. The program typically meets in July, and students earn up to six credit hours. In addition, students gain a rich weekend travel experience to Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris. The program also offers social events and company visits, such as trips to the Volkswagen headquarters in Wolfsburg Autostadt.
