Senior accounting major Molly Maxedon is a recipient of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) scholarship in the amount of $15,000. "It is such an honor to be recognized by my professors for my dedication to success throughout my academic career at USI," she said. "I am grateful for supportive professors, friends, and family who continue to help me accomplish my goals."
Of her career goals, she said, "Thanks to my time at USI and the experience I have gained through an internship opportunity, I plan to pursue a career in private accounting or auditing. This scholarship will allow me some flexibility to find the right path for my future. I look forward to a successful accounting career."
"Molly is a deserving recipient of the PCAOB Scholarship," said Dr. Thomas Noland, Professor of Accounting and Chair of Accounting and Finance. "She is an active member of the Romain College's Beta Alpha Psi award winning Gold Chapter and has interned with a Fortune 500 company."
Molly's USI involvement includes Beta Alpha Psi, Accounting and Professional Services Club, USI Honors Program, and National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Brock Weyer is also a recipient of a PCAOB scholarship. "Brock quickly became involved in the life of the Romain College after transferring another university," said Dr. Noland. "Brock is a member of the award-winning Beta Alpha Psi chapter and interned with a subsidiary of a publicly traded company. I would like to congratulate Brock on his selection as a PCAOB Scholar."
