Jacob Britt, a senior accounting major from Fairfield, Illinois, has been selected as a PCAOB Scholar and will receive a Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) scholarship in the amount of $10,000.
"I am very honored to have been selected to receive the PCAOB scholarship," Jacob says. "It will ease the burden of paying for college and highlight the reputation I have built with my professors after just one year at USI. The money from the scholarship will help me reach my career goals and eventually be spent on tuition and living expenses in Evansville and the CPA exam. I have enjoyed my time in Evansville and plan to become a CPA and pursue a long career in accounting in Evansville. Without the scholarship, my time in Evansville might have been limited to time spent at USI."
"Jacob is an outstanding student who epitomizes our transfers from one of the area community colleges in the region," stated Dr. Thomas Noland, Chair of Accounting and Finance and Professor of Accounting.
"The PCAOB Scholars Program supports students by helping to make careers in auditing possible for the best and the brightest," added Dr. Brian McGuire, Associate Dean and Professor of Accounting. "It is a great honor to be selected for this scholarship, and we are excited and proud of Jacob for being this year’s recipient from USI."
