Computer Science majors practice what they learn and put their skills to the test. For their senior projects this fall, three teams of students worked with local businesses to address a business need using IT solutions. Projects included fleet management with business intelligence tools; AI-based plastic sorting software for a recycling center; and a human resources hiring tool.
The students presented their cases to Romain College’s IT Alliance board, which is made up of local IT executives. Thoughtful discussions take place between the teams, the professionals, and the faculty. Not only is this a celebration of successful outcomes, but equally important is the discipline of seeing a project through and the learning process that only comes with failures and missteps along the way.
This is just one of many opportunities our students have for engaging in a professional networking environment that can impact their future careers. Computer Science is housed in the Management & Information Sciences Department of the Romain College of Business.
