The USI Speaking Eagles club presented Dr. Linda Bennett with the Toastmasters' Communication Achievement Award. The award is given to an individual who is an outstanding leader and speaker as well as a leader in the community. "We chose to give this award to Dr. Bennett this spring because she has made a tremendous impact on USI and excels in the qualities needed to receive this award," said Caleb Scherzinger, president of USI Speaking Eagles.
The USI chapter has been active for 19 years and is the largest Toastmasters chapter locally. There have been 48 students achieve Competent Communicator status and 17 have become Competent Leaders. Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. in BE3033.
