Let’s Talk About Dementia:

Our Dementia Friendly Communities strive to reduce stigma and increase knowledge about dementia. Dementia is a collection of symptoms and not a single disease. Dementia is often associated with brain change. A variety of diseases that cause damage to the brain result in dementia.

As our population ages, the number of people living with dementia will increase. It has been estimated that in the year 2025, 130,000 people in Indiana will have Alzheimer’s, which is just one type of dementia (alz.org).

Join the USI GWEP and Dementia Friendly Communities this Spring for a series of dementia educational programs called “Let’s Talk About Dementia!” Stay tuned to https://www.usi.edu/gwep for more information on the series.
