Celebrating National First Generation Day

In honor of National First Generation Day, November 8, which recognizes students who are the first members of their families to pursue higher education, the Pathways to USI and TRIO programs will host two events on campus.
The First Gen Panel at 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 5 will feature current students, staff and faculty who are first-generation students. They will discuss their experiences, what it means to be First Gen, how they navigate(d) college life as a First Gen and the support on campus they received. The panel will be held in the Fireside Lounge located in UC East.
On Wednesday, November 6, The Quad will host student organizations and others will gather for activities to celebrate the day. Stop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to take photos, sign the First Gen pledge and more!
