Are you interested in building an effective workforce in an increasingly global and diverse business setting? Do you want to promote a culture and language sensitive workforce to increase profits and productivity, and be globally competitive?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, consider participating in Cultural Awareness Training (CAT). USI offers you a unique hands-on training program that includes lectures by professionals in the region. You will learn to demonstrate sophisticated understanding of the complexity of elements important to members of another culture in relation to its history, values, politics, communication styles, economy, or beliefs and practices. You will be able to articulate a complex understanding of cultural differences in verbal and nonverbal communication and skillfully negotiate a shared understanding based on those differences.
In USI’s cultural awareness training course, you’ll interact closely with faculty and peers — our student-to-teacher ratio is 15:1. Our knowledgeable faculty will guide you as you learn, grow and create.
Courses are offered by blending desktop video conferencing and an online learning management system. Access to a reliable computer with internet, camera and microphone capabilities is required.
USI faculty and staff are dedicated to giving you the support you need no matter the modality for which you're taking classes. Check out our robust resources for online students including what online learning is, technology requirements and frequently asked questions.
The cultural awareness training certificate consists of two courses. The first is the required Cultural Awareness Training course. Then you have the option to choose an approved elective to complete your certification. The electives include:
With these options, you can customize your certification to best match your needs to implement and support cultural sensitivity trainings, unconscious bias trainings or diversity equity, and inclusion trainings.
