Exercise Science Overview

A degree in exercise science from USI prepares you for careers in academic, clinical, corporate, and community settings, focusing on exercise programs for disease prevention and rehabilitation. With options in pre-physical therapy or pre-occupational therapy, the program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, ensuring high educational standards. 

The Kinesiology and Sport Department offers small class sizes and hands-on experience with field and advanced equipment alike. Our laboratory spaces include common equipment such as the blood pressure cuffs, heart rate monitors, spirometers, goniometers, and various exercise equipment while also boasting state-of-the-art equipment such as Alter-G Anti-gravity treadmills, metabolic carts, force plates, wireless EMGs, and more! Students work in various labs, such as the Human Performance Lab and Instructional Performance Center, with a Biomechanics Laboratory in development. Our dedicated faculty provide the knowledge and practical skills necessary for success in the field.
