Anniversary Recap
We appreciate everyone who joined us as we celebrated our 30th Anniversary whether they were in person or in spirit. Below is a recap and small gallery of pictures from this historical event. A full gallery is available below.
Friday
The anniversary celebration began on Friday evening with our Annual USI Live at the Apollo talent revue. Former and current students and staff along with alumni and community members returned to campus to view this talent show full of singing, dancing, and live music!
Saturday
Saturday began with a cookout and yard games in the Screaming Eagles Complex. Alumni will recognize this space as the PAC. Because many alumni haven't had the opportunity to be on campus since the construction of the complex or other spaces on campus, we provided the opportunity for alumni to tour the new facilities. Following the complex tour, alumni were given a tour of the USI campus by SGA President Tamia Smith and SGA's Administrative Vice President for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Timothy Rosignol.
Later that evening, alumni and community members gathered in the Griffin Center for a celebration dinner where Interim President Steve Bridges, Interim Executive Director Jada Hogg, and our founder and Interim Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Pamela Hopson provided remarks on how we got to this momentous occasion as well as the journey ahead.
Sunday
The festivities concluded on Sunday morning with a farewell brunch. Alumni and students gathered in the Fuquay Welcome Center to reflect on the weekend and engage in fellowship as we discussed the weekend and our thoughts on how USI has grown since the time many of them were here. This event featured trivia to test their knowledge of USI and many testimonies from alumni who shared their experiences while on campus and how the MCC impacted their lives.
