The Multicultural Center is hosting its annual Rhythm Fest! Join us for a night of live music, food, and fun. This year's event features Zion Albert and Monte Skelton.

Zion Monte Skelton

Zion hails from the island of Dominica. His musical inspiration is Bob Marley, whose music has touched the hearts of many, spreading positivity to the world.

“World Revolution,” Zion’s 6th studio release, came out in 2017. Zion produced and engineered it, with the recording, mixing and overdubbing done at Treble Makers studio, and at Lion Roots Records.

He is currently in the studio recording his seventh album, "Justice & Equality," featuring drummer Anthony Wilburn Cole, and bassist Christopher Meredith (both who play and tour with Stephen Marley). Zion has also recorded at Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Studio in Jamaica with Alrick “Sticky” Thompson as the producer.

Zion performed with Ziggy Marley and Joseph Israel at a 2009 event in Hawaii. Since then, he has shared the stage with many international artists such as: The Wailers Band, Pato Banton, Mighty Diamonds, Luciano, Junior Reid, Ras Shiloh, Ossie Dellimore, Taj Weekes, warrior king and Yellowman.

For Monte Skelton, music is a way of life. Whether he is performing live or composing an album, it’s very likely there’s an instrument nearby that he can play quite well. The University of Evansville alumni is a music educator at Evansville Music Academy, and performs music around the Midwestern United States. Along with his musical talents, Skelton is known for his kind heart and optimistic outlook on life, even through the hardest of times. Through playing music festivals, private events, and local venues, Monte says that he has been fortunate enough to gain followers of his craft. Along with recording, mixing, mastering and producing four solo albums between 2017-2020, Monte has also performed with the legendary group The Temptations and jazz vocalist Sherrie Bias, and has performed for many other famous musicians and events. Currently he performs solo using looping technology and with the groups Loops & Rhythms, the Keith Farny Jazz Collective, and the Montourage.
