A major in science teaching at USI will prepare you for a rewarding career as a high school science teacher. Science teaching may appeal to you if you’re majoring in a natural or physical science, as well as if you’re a professional who decided to switch careers later in life. At USI, you will be provided with teaching strategies that include hands-on experiments, field trips and other non-conventional approaches that encourage students to explore the natural and physical world.
The Science Teaching major at USI is designed to meet the Indiana requirements for teaching licensure in one of the following areas: biology (life sciences), earth and space sciences, chemistry, physics, and physical sciences.
