USI’s Digital Video minor is offered in partnership with the Art & Design and Radio & Television Departments by utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to creating innovative digital moving images. Engaging coursework from both disciplines will instruct each student how to create compelling digital video projects from concept to completion and provide those students with the ability to release their work through various digital methods, adding their visual perspectives to current and future media landscapes. Practical working knowledge in various subjects such as Photography, Videography, Television Production, Graphic/Web Design, and Sound Design can be explored during this 18-credit hour minor.
The Digital Video minor is open to all USI students, regardless of your declared major.
Additional credit hours could indicate a major, second minor, or certificate. A minimum of 120 credit hours is required to graduate.
An undergraduate student should initiate a Change of Academic Program if they wish to add or remove a minor.
The student obtains a Change of Academic Program form from the Registrar's Office or the department of the new major/minor, secures the signature of the department chair/director (or dean) of any major/minor to be added, and returns the form to the Registrar's Office for processing.
A student must submit the completed form by the Thursday before priority registration if the change is to be made within the current semester. Unless granted a waiver by the department of the new major, the student must meet all current program requirements for graduation.
The Digital Video minor allows those students who complete their coursework to engage with all forms of digital media at both the local and national market levels. Numerous potential career paths in various capacities within the media industry are discussed with each student as they progress through their training at USI.
