USI Dining introduces Catertrax online ordering

December 10, 2024

Catering has become easier to navigate and schedule at USI, thanks to the new Catertrax online system adopted by USI Dining this semester.

The online system hosts the entire catering menu and services offered by USI Dining, as well as lists of seasonal specials. “This is the place to go when you need to order food for an event,” says MaryJo Gober, Catering Manager. “It is simplifying the process for users and for us on the catering end as well.”

If you are in need of catering services for your campus event, you simply visit the USI Dining Catertrax website and peruse the menus—selections range from breakfast and break snacks to buffets, boxed meals and hors d’oeuvres. Menus offer more than just descriptions of food—the Catertrax system also includes pricing, information on party size minimums for each setting and what service is included.

Once users have selected which service they would like, they simply fill out the order form and submit for approval.

“Each menu is easy to browse and there are many options to choose from, which shows the flexibility of USI Dining services,” says Gober. “It is exciting as this allows departments and employees planning events to browse the many options we have easily and gives them the option to try something new when ordering catering for their event.”

USI Dining can also be flexible in what requests are needed to fulfill an event’s needs, Gober adds. “We have two executive chefs and employees in our kitchens who are very talented. We are willing to work with campus departments, organizations and groups, no matter the size of budgets or size of the event to match all catering needs,” she says.

One important thing to remember when using the Catertrax online system is that this system does not book rooms or spaces through Special Events and Scheduling. When planning your event on campus, it’s important to fill out the proper request forms through usi.edu/special-events prior to ordering through Catertrax.

Once your event has been approved and you’ve been given a reservation number, you can then move on to scheduling your catering needs through Catertrax. Simply visit usidining.catertrax.com and register for an account. From there, browse the menus and make your selections, fill out the appropriate information (including your reservation number from Special Events and Scheduling) and submit the form.

“Catertrax is easy to use so I encourage employees to browse through the system,” says Gober. “Orders can be changed or adjusted after submission, so don’t be afraid to submit a request. USI Dining will verify all submissions and needs before confirming.”
