The 2008 Pott College Strategic Plan represented the first formal planning document in the history of the College. This plan served as a guide for academic planning, budget acquisition and development, recruitment and retention within the Pott College. This plan served as a "roadmap to success" that resulted in a tremendous record of accomplishments within the Pott College. A few key examples of these accomplishments include:
- Development of the University’s first ever College-level Advising and Resource Center
- Acquisition of resources, programming, development and design of the $31 million Business and Engineering Center
- Raising over $2 million in private funding for new Business and Engineering Center
- Acquisition of resources, programming, development and design of a $3.2 million Applied Engineering/Advanced Manufacturing Center
- Acquired over $4.5 million in Science Center facility renovations/updates/redesign
- Developed the Southwest Indiana STEM Resource Center (SwISTEM) responsible for regional teacher professional development/ training, scientific equipment/ instrumentation lending and STEM activities, competitions, etc.
- Saw expansion of the SwISTEM Resource Center operations from nine to 17 counties in southwest Indiana
- Awarded a $1.2 million NSF Grant to increase student retention, research and recruitment
- Established a 300-acre parcel of land for the Pott College Field Preserve
- Established the College’s first ever mentoring program for new faculty
- Updated and revised College promotion and tenure criteria
