USI to host TOLI Summer Seminar for local teachers
April 22, 2025
In partnership with the University of Southern Indiana College of Liberal Arts and CYPRESS, Dr. Todd Schroer, Chair of Criminal Justice; Dr. Alexandra Natoli, Assistant Professor of French; and Dr. Oana Popescu-Sandu, Chair of English will host a TOLI* Summer Seminar, titled, Cultural Legacies of the Holocaust: Race and Human Rights from Nazi Germany to Today, June 2-6 at no cost to participants.
This TOLI Seminar focuses on the systematic denial of human rights in Nazi Germany and the United States. This program considers how the lessons and legacies of the Holocaust can, and do, inform contemporary life and illuminate the dangers of antisemitism, ultranationalism and racism today.
This seminar is open to middle and high school teachers, college faculty, educators from all disciplines (especially social studies, history and English/language arts), and those who seek to deepen their knowledge, confidence and skills for teaching challenging content.
If you are interested in participating in this seminar or want to learn more, visit TOLI’s website. If you have any questions, contact Schroer at tschroer@usi.edu.
