Keener to deliver address at Spring 2023 School of Graduate Studies Commencement Ceremony

The speaker for the School of Graduate Studies Ceremony is Matt Keener, 2005 Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and 2012 Master of Business Administration graduate.
Keener presently serves as President of Indiana-based Keener Marketing Solutions LLC, a company that provides marketing strategy, digital marketing support and content marketing services to a diverse range of clients. With over a decade of entrepreneurial experience, he helps clients develop and implement winning marketing strategies, ranging from search engine optimization to content marketing to advertising campaign management.
Before founding Keener Marketing Solutions in 2010, Keener served as Vice President for a technology startup and helped the company close deals with notable organizations in a variety of industries. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a Market and Technology Analyst for Accuride, where he supported market research and project management initiatives for multiple brands.
Keener is the author of Executive in Sweatpants: A Handbook for Launching Your Work From Home Career. His writings have also been published on well-known industry websites, including Entrepreneur.com.
In 2019, Keener was inducted into the USI Athletic Hall of Fame for his contributions to the USI Baseball team and was named an Academic All-American Division II in 2004 and 2005. He was also a recipient of the 2005 GLVC Scharf Paragon Award, bestowed annually by the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) to one male and one female student-athlete who displays academic excellence, athletic ability and achievement, character and leadership. In 2005, Keener was also the GLVC Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Additionally, Keener received the USI Trustees Merit Award and was named the USI Male Athlete of the Year in 2005. He was also a member of the USI Dean's List and named to All-GLVC Academic Team from 2001 to 2005.
Keener currently serves as a member of the USI College of Liberal Arts Advisory Board. As a member of the Board, he works closely with faculty and staff to share feedback, brainstorm new ideas and increase community engagement for the College of Liberal Arts
In addition to his professional success, Keener enjoys spending time with his family as a devoted husband and father of five boys. He spends time coaching youth athletics, volunteering at church, playing piano, listening to classical music and reading.
