
Romain College of Business to host events in recognition of Women's Entrepreneurship Week

The University of Southern Indiana Romain College of Business will host series of events and presentations as part of Women's Entrepreneurship Week Tuesday, October 19 and Wednesday, October 20.
Launched in 2014 at Montclair State University, Women's Entrepreneurship Week is an international event held during the third week of October to celebrate and promote women's entrepreneurship. This year, USI joins more than 240 universities in 32 countries to celebrate and inspire female business founders and leaders.
All events are free and open to the public and will take place in Carter Hall and in the Business and Engineering Center on the USI campus. Events will be held in person as capacity allows.
Tuesday, October 19
- 10 a.m. in Carter Hall: A Seat at the Table: A Candid Discussion About Being a Female Entrepreneur. This panel discussion will feature area women entrepreneurs and business leaders sharing honest experiences about starting and running their businesses. This event will also be livestreamed.
- 4 p.m. in BE 1004: Giving Your Business a Digital Face: A Website Design Workshop. Presented by Dr. Sabinah Wanjugu, Assistant Professor of Marketing, and designed for small business owners who are faced with the difficult task of having to build their website, this workshop will demonstrate how to create, manage and optimize a business web presence.
Wednesday, October 20
- 1:15 p.m. in BE 3024: Women in Economics: Presented by Dr. Daria Sevastianova, Associate Professor of Economics, and Jailine McElroy, President of USI's Women in Economics Club, this panel is an opportunity to discuss topics relevant to diversity and equity in the economics field.
- 4 p.m. in BE 3029: The Business Model: A Tool for Clarifying Thinking About (and Communicating and Evaluating) Your Small Business. Presented by Dr. Kevin Celuch, Blair Chair of Business Science, this workshop will go over the misconceptions surrounding the term "entrepreneur" and how they lead to failure, as well as how to reframe thought about control and luck to avoid those misconceptions.
