How the REAL ID Act could impact your next flight

January 21, 2020

Update as of April 1, 2020: Due to the coronavirus, the REAL ID Act deadline has been delayed one year to October 1, 2021.

Travel Procurement would like to remind USI employees of a modification in federal law that will affect everyone who flies for University business (and for personal travel). Beginning October 1, 2020, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will require every air traveler 18 and older to present a REAL ID-compliant driver's license (marked with a star at the top of the card), state-issued enhanced driver's license or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States.

For more information about REAL IDs and how you can obtain one before the October 1 deadline, visit the Travel Procurement website.
