Old National Bank/USI Student Athlete of the Year nominees announced

Nominees for the Old National Bank/USI Student Athlete of the Year Award were announced during the USI Archie Awards sponsored by Old National Bank held Monday, April 22, in Carter Hall. Four female and three male student athletes are under consideration and additional nominees are possible as spring sports finish their respective seasons. Winners of the Old National Bank/USI Student Athlete of the Year Awards will be announced in late May/early June.
Female nominees
Imani Guy, basketball
Guy, a sophomore forward from Columbus, Indiana, earned first-team All-GLVC honors in 2019.
Claire Johnson, softball
Johnson, a senior infielder from Pittsboro, Indiana, is currently in the top five of several GLVC offensive statistical categories. She was named GLVC Player of the Week earlier this season and was named to the 2018 NCAA II Softball Championship All-Tournament team.
Jennifer Leonhardt, softball
Leonhardt, a junior pitcher from Louisville, Kentucky, has been named GLVC Pitcher of the Week three times this season and was named NFCA DII National Pitcher of the Week. She leads the GLVC in ERA, strikeouts and opposing batting average and was named the 2018 NCAA II Softball Championship Most Outstanding Player.
Madelyne Juenger, soccer
Juenger, a sophomore defender from Columbia, Illinois, earned first-team All-GLVC and first-team All-Midwest Region honors this year.
Male nominees
Austin Nolan, cross country
Nolan, a junior from Evansville, Indiana, was named the GLVC Runner of the Year in 2019. He was the GLVC champion for the second straight year and earned both All-GLVC and All-Midwest Region honors.
Sean Rickey, soccer
Rickey, a junior midfielder from Columbia, Illinois, was named the 2018 GLVC Offensive Player of the Year. He earned first-team All-GLVC, first-team All-Midwest Region and second-team All-America honors.
Alex Stein, basketball
Stein, a senior guard from Evansville, Indiana, earned first-team All-GLVC, first-team All-Midwest Region and honorable mention All-America honors. He was named the Midwest Region Tournament Most Outstanding Player and was named to the Elite Eight All-Tournament Team.
