Registration open for USI summer camps

Looking for educational options for your young ones this summer? Registration is now open for a variety of camps offered this summer through the University of Southern Indiana. The camps each have a different focus, and range from engineering and other, STEM related themes to sports and general enrichment. Here is a sampling of the offerings available summer 2016. Girls Only (GO) STEM!
The sixth annual Girls Only (GO) STEM! summer camp allows high school girls to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. GO STEM! will be held from June 12-16. Participants will stay on the USI campus in residence hall learning communities. Each community will have a female undergraduate student mentor who will help with various activities and provide girls with guidance and networking connections. Included as part of the camp is a learning excursion to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari. GO STEM! is open to girls in grades 9-12. The cost of the camp is $150. Applications are available until May 9 at www.swistem.org.
Middle School Innovation Camp
The Middle School Innovation Camp is for children going into 6th through 8th grade during the fall of 2016. This camp will offer middle school students the opportunity to "Think Outside the Box" by exploring topics relevant to 21st century STEM applications in an engaging week-long day camp experience on the campus of the University of Southern Indiana. This camp takes place July 11-15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is now open. The cost to attend the camp is $150.
Engineering & Manufacturing Creativity Camp (EMC2)
Engineering & Manufacturing Creativity Camp (EMC2) gives high school students a chance to learn how the stuff they use every day is made through a series of exciting on-campus activities and field trips to local manufacturers. This camp takes place July 11-15 from 9 a.m. -4 p.m. Registration is now open with a fee of $50.
Summer Enrichment Camp
USI's Summer Enrichment Camp is an all-day camp taking place in the lower level of the Rice Library. The camp includes many enrichment activities designed to promote educational, physical and social/emotional growth like swimming, field trips and experiences like science, art, cooking and more. Children may enroll full-time, or if space allows, part-time for the entire summer. Limited spaces are available and priority is given to USI families. This camp takes place Monday-Friday, May 23-July 29 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Weekly tuition for non-USI employees is $140.
Super Summer Enrichment Camp
USI Outreach and Engagement offers a one-week Super Summer session for children ages 4 through 14. Children will have the option to register for morning and/or afternoon sessions. Free lunchtime supervision is available at for those enrolling in both morning and afternoon classes. Children enrolled all day and staying for lunch must be five years or older, and should bring their own non-perishable lunches and drinks. The camp takes place June 6-10 from 9 - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 - 3 p.m. The registration fee is $90 per course.
Sports Camps
USI is also offering sports campus for various age groups and skill levels in baseball, basketball, volleyball and soccer. The camps take place throughout June and July, and vary from one-day camps to weeklong camps.
