USI Campus Store offers new look, products, and discounts
August 13, 2013
Don't call the renovated USI Campus Store "the bookstore," said Michael Goelzhauser, store manager. "In addition to textbooks, we have gifts, supplies, snacks, computers, and software," he said. "It's much more than a bookstore."
The USI Campus Store reopened in July and now houses the USI Tech Store, an authorized Apple reseller. New clothing lines include Nike and Under Armour; student and faculty artwork will be offered for sale; and there are plans to expand selections of giftware and jewelry.
Within the last year, a discount for employees and retirees was instituted: 10 percent off books and 20 percent off most other items.

USI Tech Store
The USI Tech Store offers most Apple products, including iPod, iPad and iPad Mini, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, iMac, and Apple TV. (The store doesn't sell the iPhone.)
Apple products are available for purchase only by USI students and employees who are eligible for the University's Apple education discount.
The USI Tech Store also offers support and repair. "That is a convenience factor," Collier said. "You don't have to ship your hardware or take it off campus."
Also in the works: "Appy Hours," 20- to 30-minute seminars on the hottest new iOS applications. Follow the Tech Store on Twitter @usitechstore for dates and times or "like" the USI Campus Store on Facebook.
Art for Sale
The USI Campus Store will eventually offer student and faculty art for sale. The artwork will be on display in a case (currently under construction) near the offices of Alumni & Volunteer Services.
Offering students a venue to display and sell their art was the brainchild of Steve Bridges, assistant vice president for finance and administration and assistant treasurer. "We hope offering student and faculty art will entice visitors to the store," he said. "Our students are very talented and we want to proudly display their work, help them benefit financially, and add a product line that will be a great gift or purchase for anyone."
Near the display case, is a new lounge area with a table, chairs and charging stations, along with large windows providing a view into the new USI Campus Store.
New Payment Options
Following a successful summer test period, the USI Campus Store is allowing students to charge up to $1,000 to their student accounts. Students can pay a lump sum, in installments, or with financial assistance. For more information about the new payment option, go to www.usi.edu/campusstore/payment-options.
A public grand opening for the USI Campus Store will be held in late October, during Parents & Families Weekend.
