NOMINATIONS ACCEPTED THROUGH MARCH 15

USI Career Services and Internships is accepting nominations for outstanding interns, internship host organizations and faculty advisors who have demonstrated excellence in internship engagement and support. Nominations are accepted and awards presented based on the school year, with the summer session included in the following spring. Example: Summer 2023, Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 internships are eligible from the time the internship begins through the next March 15th. See specific guidelines for each category below. Nominations are accepted online through March 15 each year, and awards are presented each April.

Guidelines:

Nominations are accepted and awards are presented based on the school year, with the summer session included in the following spring. Example: Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024, internships are eligible for nominations through the deadline of March 15, 2024.

Student Intern Eligibility

  • Must be nominated by a USI faculty member or supervisor from their internship site.
  • Must be a current registered student at the University of Southern Indiana in good standing or new graduate.
  • Must have participated in an internship for a minimum of 100 hours during a semester or summer term during the current nomination cycle.
  • Both for-credit internships and non-credit internships are eligible.
  • The student must report their complete Internship information on USI Career Launch prior to the nomination deadline.
  • Clinical, human services, and student teaching field experiences required by academic departments are not eligible for nomination

Internship Employer Eligibility

  • Must be nominated by a current or former student intern, or by a USI faculty internship advisor.
  • Must have hosted one or more USI interns within the current nomination cycle. The internship must have equaled at least 100 intern hours during a semester or summer term.
  • Provide a quality, structured internship experience for USI students.
  • Mentor and encourage students to set learning goals and help ensure they meet the goals.
  • Provide opportunities for learning and leadership throughout the students' internship experience.
  • Evaluate the students' internship experience through evaluations provided by either USI Career Services or the faculty advisor at the end of the internship term. (May also include mid-term evaluation).
  • The student must report their complete Internship information on USI Career Launch prior to the nomination deadline.

Faculty Internship Advisor Eligibility

  • Must be a current USI faculty member and be nominated by a current or former student who completed an internship under their guidance during the current nomination cycle.
  • Must be responsible for facilitating aspects of the student internship experience. Including any of the following:
    • Preparation for the internship application process or referral to USI Career Services for assistance.
    • Collecting information about student internships and instructing the students to report their internships to the university database (Career Launch).
    • Provide a method for the internship supervisor to evaluate the students' internship experience either on your own or through Career Services at the end of the internship term. (May also include mid-term evaluation).
    • Mentoring students and encouraging or requiring them to set and meet learning goals throughout their internship experience.
  • The student must report their complete Internship information on USI Career Launch prior to the nomination deadline.
