The Bachelor of Science in Community and Public Health prepares students for careers dedicated to enhancing population health and well-being. This program provides a thorough foundation in public health principles, community health strategies and preventive care practices. By combining theory with practical experience, students gain the skills needed to tackle health challenges on both local and global scales.
All students complete a culminating experience which includes taking a professionalism course (3 credit hours) and an experiential learning opportunity. The experiential learning opportunity has three options: Health Professions Capstone (3 credit hours), Internship (3 credit hours) or a two semester Administrator-in-Training (AIT) residency (12 credit hours). If a student chooses the AIT option, the major credit hour total is 66.

There is no application process to declare the Community and Public Health (CPH) major. Students may declare the major upon entering the university or complete a change of major form at any point in time.
Once in the CPH program, students will be required complete the prerequisite courses and achieve a 2.75 GPA prior to the start of an internship or Administrator-In-Training (AIT) opportunity.
