The job outlook for someone with a post-master's certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is quite strong. As the population ages and the need for primary care services increases, family nurse practitioners are in high demand. FNPs provide a range of healthcare services, including preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of various conditions.
The U.S. is experiencing a shortage of primary care physicians, and FNPs are filling that gap, especially in rural and underserved areas. As a family nurse practitioner, you’ll focus on care of patients and families and you may function primarily in ambulatory care settings treating newborns, infants, children, adolescents, pregnant and postpartum women, adults and elders.
