General Business Overview

USI's AACSB-accredited business administration program brings the real world into the classroom. The general business area of interest is designed to allow you to customize your elective course selection to meet your personal academic goals and to prepare you with the interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills necessary to be successful in the business world. USI's bachelor's degree in business administration emphasizes practical knowledge along with business theory. You'll take challenging, engaging business courses that provide a real-world perspective, while developing marketable business administration skills that employers seek in new hires. You will receive personalized attention from caring faculty members and complete high-quality internships that yield many hours of workplace experience. In the classroom, you'll work with real-life business administration case studies and have the chance to test your ideas.

The Romain College of Business has earned accreditation from AACSB, which is considered the "gold standard" for business accreditation. Only 5.7% of business schools, globally, have earned that accreditation. Achieving accreditation is a multi-year process of rigorous internal focus, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor and peer-reviewed evaluation. Schools must develop and implement a plan to align with accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.

Nicole Biggs '15 -- Business Process Manager at Cintas

"Manage your career proactively by asking for what you want, making it clear what interests you, and always seeking feedback - this will make you a better employee and a better leader. Additionally, always maintain a smile and positive attitude - it's good for the heart and those around you! I met my current company, Cintas, at the USI job fair in 2013. I began as an intern and have been with the company for almost 9 years now. I have held several positions in the company, one of which allowed me to travel the country for three years. Very thankful for the career fair!"

Elizabeth Gray '19 -- Account Manager at Revelation Machinery

“The Romain College of Business has been a major catalyst in my professional development. As an undergraduate student, I had the privilege of collaborating with faculty by participating in research, attending conferences, and gaining real-world experience working as an academic. As a first-generation transfer student, I was able to forge strong relationships with faculty and other students, which served as a strong foundation for networking and ultimately assisted in my job search post-graduation. Therefore, I will forever be thankful for my time as a student in the Romain College of Business.”
