Mission Statement
Through the Pathways to USI program, historically underserved populations, i.e., first-generation students, PELL Grant eligible students, 21st Century Scholars and students from rural areas, are provided with holistic services and support to meet their needs through inquiry, transition, graduation and post-graduation. We seek to build up confidence, leadership and social skills in students while keeping them on track academically. We strive to enhance educational opportunities throughout a student's entire undergrad experience - not just their freshman year.
Upcoming Programs
2024- 2025 Academic Year
Discover USI-An all-inclusive overnight program beginning on Sunday. Scholars attend a university class the following Monday. Grades 11-12

Access Granted- An overnight fun-themed weekend program. Scholars spend the weekend in campus housing to gain exposure to USI, participate in leadership activities, career exploration, and more! Grades 9-11

Affinity Days-A one day event showcasing Black and Latinx cultures providing scholars with a cultural immersion experience. Grades 9-12

Pre-Screagle Summer Institute- Tailored to support incoming college students. With a focus on academic, social, and professional development, PSSI offers intensive courses in math, reading, and writing, alongside essential time and stress management skills. Our goal is to ease the transition to college, enhance academic abilities, and foster a sense of belonging for students.
Summer: Jun. 20- Aug.8
Pathways Forms
Request Form- This form will allow individuals to do the following:
- Request a Pathways employee to visit your school, community program, or center
- Request a visit to USIs campus through the Pathways Program
- Request pre-collegiate help with test-taking strategies, USI admissions process, or financial aid process
Discover USI/Access Granted/Affinity Day Application- We accept applications for our overnight programs throughout the year.
Pre-Screagle Summer Institute- If you are interested in our Pre-Screagle Summer Institute programming, please use this sign up form.
Recommender's Form- Have a student or a group of students you recommend for the Pathways program? Fill out this form, and we will do the rest!
Video/Photo Release- We love to take pictures! Pictures will be used for the website, presentations, and marketing.
