Emotional Intelligence 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. |
Emotional Intelligence (EI) has been found to be an important aspect of individual and organizational success. In this workshop, we will explore the five (EI) domains that include both personal components (self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-motivation) and social components (social awareness and social skills). Join Britney Orth and Crystal Willoughby from the Dean of Students Office (DOSO) in this session on how the incorporation of emotional intelligence strategies in our care and conduct work illustrate how EI can benefit students, faculty, and the institution. If participants would like to learn more about their individual emotional intelligence prior to the presentation, they may go to the following link to complete the free inventory: https://www.truity.com/test/emotional-intelligence-test. |
Indiana College Core & You 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. |

We at USI can expect more prospective and matriculating students to arrive with this credential in hand. This session will overview the ICC, how it impacts students of various majors, and will begin a conversation about how we can more thoughtfully support these students in their unique transition to college. This session is appropriate for anyone who encounters prospective and new students, whether in academic, student life, housing, or athletics. |
