Enrollment into the Army ROTC Program is easy; simply enroll in Military Science 101! Students can take Army ROTC classes without commitment to the US Army. As long as the student takes an Army ROTC class as an elective course and does not receive scholarship from the Army ROTC program, there is no obligation.
Army ROTC classes are much like any other class that you enroll into at USI and it counts for college credit. Cadets receive their weekly training in a classroom environment and they execute what they learn in a lab environment on Wednesday afternoons, typically out at Broadway Recreation Center. This allows students who are interested in what Army ROTC has to offer without locking in a commitment.
You can have the best of two worlds, civilian and military and get a college experience unlike any other.
If you’re interested in attending college while learning what it takes to become an Army Officer, ROTC may be right for you. In addition to teaching you valuable leadership skills, military training and discipline, Army ROTC can also provide you with money for tuition and other expenses through scholarships.
