Rob Millard-Mendez, Professor of Art, received his MFA in sculpture from UMASS Dartmouth. He hails from a historic New England textile town steeped in industrial legacy, where his fascination with mechanics and the ingenuity of practical artisans took root from an early age. Drawing from his own academic journey, he imparts his expertise in 3-D design and woodworking to aspiring artists.
His artistic footprint spans far and wide with over 500 exhibitions showcasing his creations across all 50 states and internationally. His portfolio boasts numerous solo exhibitions complimented by over 100 awards for art and teaching. His sculptures are housed in over 60 private and public collections, while his work is seen in esteemed publications like Sculpture Magazine, American Craft and Art New England.
A first-generation college graduate, Millard-Mendez has worked with many different populations, leveraging art as a tool for societal enrichment and collaborating with diverse demographics to craft public artworks that elevate cultural vitality in underserved communities.
