Jiaying Liu is an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems at USI. She holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Bowling Green State University, a master’s degree in information systems from Iowa State University and a doctorate in information systems from Louisiana State University. Liu specializes in teaching undergraduate courses in information systems and data analytics, including data visualization, enterprise processes, machine learning and data management for business analytics. She is known for her interactive teaching style, which emphasizes practical application and student engagement through interactive projects and real-world case studies.
Her research focuses on understanding human behavior in technology-mediated environments through sociopsychological perspectives. She has a broad range of interests, including social media analytics, crowdsourcing and the adoption of technology innovation. Liu is an active contributor to the academic community, regularly reviewing for and publishing in prestigious journals and conferences such as AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction, International Conference on Information Systems, Americas Conference on Information Systems, European Conference on Information Systems and Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences.
