About the Expert

Dr. Curtis Price is a Professor of Economics in the Romain College of Business and the founder of the Judith A. and Robert E. Griffin Experimental Economics Laboratory. He teaches courses on managerial economics and experimental economics, and his research explores experimental methodology, managerial decision-making and the intersection of gender and competition. His work has been published in leading journals such as Management Science, Economics Letters, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy and Managerial and Decision Economics.

Price earned his PhD from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University, along with master’s degrees in economics and mathematics. Before pursuing his doctorate, he spent more than a decade in the insurance industry, where he worked as an actuary specializing in pricing workers' compensation insurance policies in the excess and reinsurance markets. He continues to consult in actuarial, economic and statistical fields.

In addition to his research and teaching, Price serves as a referee for top-tier journals such as Management Science, Experimental Economics and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and has reviewed grants for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
