About the Search

The University of Southern Indiana Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the launch of a nationwide search for the University's fifth president.

Once the successful candidate is named, the University’s new president will start in July 2025.

Presidential Search Committee

The Presidential Search Committee is chaired by Christina M. Ryan, First Chair of the USI Board of Trustees. 

The committee includes representation from the Board of Trustees, university leadership, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors.

November 7, 2024 - Recruitment and application phase underway

The Presidential Search Committee is advancing in its search for the University's fifth President, with Academic Search now set to solicit applications. Insights from the campus community have shaped a detailed search prospectus, outlining USI’s goals and desired presidential qualifications. Academic Search will recruit widely, with applications accepted until January 27, 2025. The committee is confident that this process will yield a dynamic leader to build on USI’s successes and drive future growth.

September 25, 2024 - Feedback sessions and survey

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, representatives from Academic Search, Inc., the search consultant group working with the University, invited USI faculty and staff to meet with them for two one-hour sessions. These sessions allowed employees to share feedback regarding the University's perceived needs and desired leadership qualities for USI's next president.

Following the open sessions, the USI Presidential Search Committee shared a survey with currently enrolled students, employees and retirees to share insights, priorities and more to aid in the search. The survey consisted of eight open-ended questions designed to allow participants to provide a comprehensive and qualitative perspective. All responses were anonymous. The survey was open from Thursday, September 26 to Sunday, October 6.
