An undergraduate student should initiate a Change of Academic Program if they wish to add or remove a minor.
The student obtains a Change of Academic Program form from the Registrar's Office or the department of the new major/minor, secures the signature of the department chair/director (or dean) of any major/minor to be added, and returns the form to the Registrar's Office for processing.
A student must submit the completed form by the Thursday before priority registration if the change is to be made within the current semester. Unless granted a waiver by the department of the new major, the student must meet all current program requirements for graduation.
In the last few years, applications to law schools have fallen, so those schools are working harder to recruit students. In other words, this is a great time to apply if you're interested! A JD (juris doctor) is a very flexible degree; with it, you can choose from many, many career paths, including, but not limited to: working in the public sector, opening your own law firm, joining a law firm, advancing a political or personal passion as an advocate, and teaching at a law school. In a nation of laws, there is need for people with legal training in almost every conceivable field. If you have an interest, there is likely a legal aspect to it. In addition, many jobs requiring a JD are well compensated, so you can find a career path that is both fulfilling and provides financial security.
