Majoring in manufacturing engineering at USI includes taking classes in manufacturing, mechanics, design, and industrial processes. You will benefit from coursework in machine design, manufacturing process, finite element analysis, and facility and material handling layout. You will develop the skills required to design and implement all aspects of manufacturing from machinery through flexible manufacturing systems.
Manufacturing engineering involves designing high quality, functional and economical products as well as designing, improving, and managing the processes and systems that manufacture those products. You will be trained to develop facilities for cost effective and efficient production and how to use advanced technologies such as robotics and additive manufacturing.
