The Crime and Justice concentration is designed for adult learners pursuing careers in law enforcement, criminal justice, probation, corrections, and related fields. Our fully online degree in professional studies allows you to complete your program and advance your career through a customized course of study tailored to your goals, available time commitment, and work experience.

Whether you're a traditional student, working professional, military veteran, or active-duty service member, we are dedicated to helping you reach your full potential. Before beginning your studies, our advisors will assess your past experiences and college credits to help you design an individualized program and select the best degree track to meet your goals—either the Applied Studies track or the Individual Studies track. The BPS Core includes the following three (3) credit hour courses:

  • POLS 351 - Leadership in Bureaucratic Organizations US
  • PRFS 301 - The Ethics of Global Engagement
  • PRFS 401 - Teams, Diversity, & Leadership
  • PRFS 490 - Professional Studies Internship
  • PRFS 498 - Personal & Professional Development

The remaining 12 hours of Criminal Justice (CRIM) courses are listed below.

  • CRIM 234 - Introductions to Corrections

  • CRIM 301 - Criminal Justice Administration
  • CRIM 315 - Crime Control Strategies

Some requirements may be substituted with directed electives approved by the BPS Program Advisor.

To apply to the University of Southern Indiana (USI) for undergraduate enrollment:

  • Complete the online application for admission
  • Pay the $40 application fee
  • Submit official transcripts from all high schools and colleges you've attended

Once USI has processed your application, transcript(s) and scores (if needed), a decision will be made by Undergraduate Admissions and you will receive a notification.

Upon acceptance to USI, you'll receive detailed information about next steps, including orientation, registration and housing.
