Inspirational cancer survivor and healthy lifestyle enthusiast to speak at USI

March 29, 2016

D. Anthony Evans is bringing his message of hope, empowerment and healing during a presentation at the University of Southern Indiana on Tuesday, April 5 at 5:30pm in University Center room 2217. This event is free and open to the community.

Born with neurofibromatosis, a rare inherited condition where tumors grow on nerve tissue and can cause damage to nerves and surrounding tissues, Anthony Evans knows what it takes to face down life's biggest challenges and beat them. Through his fierce dedication to positive thought and energy, Evans has become an avid fitness enthusiast, believing that individuals can greatly improve their ability to prevent cancer, survive it, and thrive by embracing exercise and a vegan diet.

Now, he's determined to reach and inspire at-risk youth, or anyone who has had to overcome great obstacles to believe that, "no matter what life throws at you, don't let it dictate, define, or control your quality of life. You are bigger than your circumstances."

Evans crusades for healthy healings as spokesperson for the Fresh State for Our Youth Foundation, also serving as a leader for the American Cancer Society ambassador team and working with elected officials to pass cancer legislation and create cancer awareness throughout the year.
