Proceeds to create scholarship opportunities for USI students from the Chicago area

The University of Southern Indiana is being honored alongside former Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall Shepard at the 110th Anniversary Dinner of the Indiana Society of Chicago Foundation at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, December 5 at the Fairmont Hotel in Downtown Chicago.

The annual event of the Indiana Society of Chicago honors exceptional Hoosier individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the state and nation. The University of Southern Indiana is being honored this year as it celebrates its 50th anniversary and former Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall Shepard is being honored as "Hoosier of the Year."  Proceeds from the event will create four scholarships for students from the Chicago area attending the University of Southern Indiana.

Michael Feinstein, the multi-platinum selling, two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy Award-nominated entertainer dubbed "The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook," will headline the event. Feinstein is host of the PBS series, "Great American Songbook," and is the artistic director of the Palladium in Carmel, Indiana.
