Academic Skills

We offer several academic support structures to help students achieve their educational goals during their time at USI.

COVID 19 Update: At the end of the Fall 2020 semester, beginning on November 23rd, academic support will be offered remotely. See the Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction pages for specific details and schedules.
Placement testing will be available by appointment only, with both in-person and remote delivery options.

Our Free Academic Support includes:

A relaxing, friendly, non-judgmental environment that offers:

Academic Coaching & Study Skills Assistance to help under-prepared students to advance their skills to university level

Collaboration with other departmental staff and faculty to develop programs aimed to empower students for future success such as:

General Studies courses (GENS) focused on developing students academically to the university level

We also supervise the Placement testing of students to determine the readiness of incoming students for university level coursework.
