United Way

USI is excited to participate in the United Way’s Annual Day of Caring on September 13, 2019!  Day of Caring is our community’s single largest volunteer event where more than 1,000 volunteers will help local nonprofits with a wide variety of projects ranging from painting and landscaping to reading to children and filing. There’s a project for everyone! Day of Caring is an excellent way to connect with a local nonprofit agency and give back to those in need in our community.

Supervisor approval is needed in order to take this as a paid work day. Please fill out the Supervisor Agreement and return to Sally Smith in University Marketing and Communications by August 23, 2019.

WELCOME BACK!

If you have volunteered with Day of Caring or United Way in the past, this section is for you. Signing up to volunteer with Day of Caring is the same easy process as last year. Click here to go straight to the volunteer website to view this year’s Day of Caring volunteer opportunities; and then sign up for the volunteer assignment of your choice.

Thank you for volunteering and making a difference in our community on Day of Caring again this year. We look forward to another great day of coming together to do great work to benefit our community!

A few things to remember:

  1. All volunteers must be registered for their opportunities by Friday, August 23. Registration will close and no more volunteers will be allowed to. This cut-off time helps staff ensure that volunteers and agencies have a meaningful and quality experience on the day.
  2. If you are signing up as a team make sure everyone is physically capable to do the work for which you are assigned. For example; if a volunteer assignment requires heavy lifting can your entire group accommodate that request?
  3. If you have selected your volunteer assignment, and find that you can no longer volunteer, or you don’t need as many spots on your team, please un-register yourself and/or affected team members. This helps open the space for other volunteers.
  4. Breakfast is FREE for all Day of Caring volunteers. Gates will open at 7 a.m. at Bosse Field.
