Year Four Update:

Experiental -Learning -Blue -RIver -ResearchParticipation in experiential learning opportunities has increased significantly, with 82 percent of current undergraduate students taking part in at least one such opportunity, including enrolling in a service learning course, studying abroad, or participating in an internship.

USI's Service Learning program gives students opportunities to apply their knowledge to "real world" experiences while providing valuable services to the community. The percentage of USI graduates who completed one or more Service Learning courses is now 72 percent, up from just 2 percent in 2008-2009.

Use of ORGSync software that allows students to find opportunities for and track their experiential learning and other extracurricular activities has expanded significantly with all USI student organizations having a presence within the system. An additional software module is being purchased that will allow local non-profits to post volunteer opportunities within the ORGsync system and communicate with students directly.
