Are you a motivated high school girl (entering 9th-12th grade) who wants to stay engaged in STEM during your summer break but simply cannot find time for a week-long camp commitment?  The coordinators of the Girls Only (GO) STEM! Summer Exploration Series at USI recognize that summer break is short and your list of things to do is packed with summer jobs, travel, athletic camps/practices, etc.! New for 2019, we have re-imagined our summer camp model and transitioned to a model that can work for you.

Here is how it works. Check out our session descriptions and register for the two-day mini-camp(s) that fits your interests and your hectic schedule. Pick one or pick them all!

Please click the registration button and complete the form with a legal guardian or parent to sign-up for mini-camps.  Once your registration is complete, we will send you a confirmation with payment instructions to the email address that you listed. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your junk or clutter folders. Contact Allison Grabert (afgrabert@usi.edu) for additional registration assistance.  We cannot finalize your registration until fee submission is complete. Beautiful Chemistry: The Chemistry of Cosmetics (Registration Closed)
Have you ever wondered about the ingredients in soaps, shampoo, lotion, or makeup? How do bath bombs really work? How is soap made? Why does one lotion "work" better than another for dry skin? Did you realize that the cosmetic industry employs chemists? If you would like to learn how to make your own lip balm, bath bombs, soap and make-up while learning chemistry, come and join our GO STEM mini-camp Beautiful Chemistry: The Chemistry of Cosmetics. Our camp involves hands-on lab experience making beauty products and understanding the chemistry behind how these products are made. We will also explore the chemistry of how moisturizers and soaps work.
